Bowl Games Preview

So, I went 4-for-5 in my predictions for today’s games, not too shabby. I must give credit to the team who gave me my one loss, Virginia Tech. Good job Hokies. So, without further ado, here are my predictions for tomorrow’s bowl games.

Cotton Bowl-Mississippi vs. Texas Tech: Mississippi has played tough this season, as they had upset wins against both Florida and LSU, as well as, a close loss to Alabama; but, Texas Tech has something to prove. Their lopsided defeat to Oklahoma is what has kept them out of the title game and they need to win this game in order to silence all of their critics. Ole Miss has a stout defense; but, I do not expect them to be able to hold off Texas Tech star wide receiver Michael Crabtree for long. Texas Tech gets the win in this one.

Autozone Liberty Bowl-Kentucky vs. East Carolina: I must admit, I haven’t seen Kentucky play much this season; but, I believe that their record speaks for itself. The Wildcats lost to every ranked team that they faced and the ended the year on a three game losing streak. The Pirates, on the other hand, ended the season on a 3 game winning streak and their resume boasts victories over Orange Bowl winner Virginia Tech and Meineke Car Care Bowl winner West Virginia. I expect the Pirates to sail to victory.

Allstate Sugar Bowl-Utah vs. Alabama: Alabama is certainly one of the best teams in the country and they will give Utah all they can handle. The Utes boast an undefeated record; but, a schedule that consists predominantly of Mountain West Conferance foes just doesn’t cut it. Albama is a battle-tested team that boasts wins against Clemson, Georgia, and  LSU. Even though Utah will be looking to gain the respect of those who think that they were aided by a light schedule, I expect the Crimson Tide to simply be too much for this team. Nick Saban will lead his very talented Alabama team to a big win against the inexperience Utes.
