Cards Win Big!
When the playoffs began, the Cardinals were seen by many to be the weakest of the playoff teams. After they defeated Atlanta, they were again written off, this time because of their poor record on the east coast. Again, however, they have proved everyone wrong.
It wasn’t even a game, as the Cardinals blew-away the Panthers 33-13. Arizona’s usual playmakers performed as expected, as Kurt Warner threw for 220 yards and 2 touchdowns and star wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald had 166 receiving yards, including 1 touchdown. The same, however, could not be said for Carolina, as Jake Delhomme threw 5 interceptions and Steve Smith caught only 2 passes.
Arizona seems to be thriving as the underdog. When interviewed, Tony Siragusa told Kurt Warner that “Nobody gave you a chance,” a statement that Warner responded to by saying “You got that right!” It was almost as if Warner had always believed in the potential of his team; but, that he was still a bit suprised that they were able to pull-out the upset in such dominating fashion.
Arizona will look to continue their momentum next week against the winner of the New York Giants-Philidelphia Eagles.
Great blog you’ve got here. I would be interested in placing your site on my blogroll. Would you do the same?
