Another NFL head coach has been axed by his team, as the Kansas City Chiefs have fired Herm Edwards. Edwards had coached the Chiefs for 3 seasons, during which they had a dismal 15-33 record. In fact, during Edward’s tenure, the Chiefs finished with a worse record every year, which was punctuated by a 2-14 record this season.

Recently, there had been speculation about Edward’s position as the Chief’s coach and there had even been many fan websites that were devoted to reasons why Edwards should be fired. Edwards has coached in the NFL for 8 years, as he has coached both the New York Jets and Kansas City Chiefs. His overall record in the NFL is 54-74.

UPDATE: The Chiefs are reportedly close to completing a deal to hire Mike Shanahan to replace Edwards.
