It will be a showdown between the top two seeds in Rotterdam, as Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray have advanced to the final. Nadal had a potentially tough encounter against the only man who has beaten him all season, Gael Monfils; however, Nadal was able to dismiss the Frenchman in a routine match 6-4,6-4. The world’s number one player definitely made more errors than he would have liked, but he was able to raise his game at the key moments. He defeated Monfils in one hour and forty-two minutes. Nadal is attempting to win his first tournament since his epic Australian Open win, as well as, become the first Spaniard to win in Rotterdam.

Andy Murray had an easy win over Mario Ancic, as he defeated him 6-1,6-2 in just sixty-one minutes. Murray was nearly flawless in the first set; however, in the second set, he appeared to be suffering from a right ankle injury, which slightly hampered his play. Murray, like Nadal, has only one loss this season.

Rafael Nadal has defeated Andy Murray in five of the six times that they have played. However, Murray’s only win over Nadal came in their most recent matchup, which was at last year’s US Open.
