UConn’s 13-game winning streak has come to an end, as the 4th ranked Pitt Panthers defeated them 76-68. Though the game was close, the Panthers were in the lead for almost the entire game. DeJuan Blair had 22 points and 23 rebounds and Levance Fields scored the bulk of his 10 points in the last three minutes of the game, to give the Panthers an important win the tough Big East Conferance.

UConn’s Hasheem Thabeet was in foul trouble early and he consequently spent more time on the bench than the Huskies would have liked. He finished the game with five points and four rebounds, which was a far cry from his performances against Louisville and Seton Hall.

Pittsburgh’s victory caused the top four Big East teams to be tied in the loss column, as Pittsburgh, UConn, Louisville, and Marquette each have two losses in the conferance.
