Cowboys Release Terrell Owens

On Thursday, T.O.’s three-year run with the Dallas Cowboys finally came to an end. It has been a tumultuous relationship and it was clear on Thursday that Dallas was fed up with his constant antics.

“We will move on now with a new team–a new attitude–and into a new stadium,” said Jerry Jones, who is the Cowboys owner.

During his three years with the team, Owens had issues with quarterback Tony Romo, tight end Jason Witten, and offensive coordinator Jason Garrett.

Cowboys receiver Sam Hurd said that having T.O. out of the mix “takes a lot of pressure off of Romo. A guy like him demands the ball and you want to get him the ball.”

Even if Owens was a bit of a problem child that the Cowboys had to deal with, his stats don’t lie, as he is tied for sixth all-time in receptions, fifth all-time in yards, and 2nd all-time in touchdowns.

On his website, T.O said that he “looks forward to the upcoming season and continuing to play in the NFL.”

Here are some of his highlights from his tenure with Dallas:
