Louisville Wins the Big East Conference Title

Pittsburgh’s win over UConn opened the door and, after losing the regular season title last year, the Louisville Cardinals made sure that history didn’t repeat itself this year. The Cardinals defeated West Virginia in a nail-biter 62-59 on Saturday night to win the Big East Conference title outright and secure the number one seed for the Big East tournament, which takes place next week.

Terrence Williams was pivotal in Louisville’s success, as he stole the show with 20 pts, 7 assists, and 6 rebounds. The biggest storyline, however, was the Musketeer’s star Alex Ruoff, who didn’t score a single point in the game.

It looks like the Cardinals definitely have momentum going into the Big East Tournament. For all of you Cardinal fans or for those of you who haven’t gotten a chance to see them play much this season, here is a great video that pays tribute to the seniors on the team:
