Both of today’s semifinal matches were at a very high level, but it was Andy Murray and Rafael Nadal who prevailed against Roger Federer and Andy Roddick, respectively.

Murray defeated Federer 6-3,4-6,6-1 to secure his fourth straight win over the number two player in the world. After the match, Federer said that he had “Way too many errors today,” who committed 32 total errors. “The first set, I tried to keep playing; I couldn’t. I struggled with the rhythm today, so that was the same thing in the third set… He played unbelievable in the end.” This is Murray’s best start of a season in his career, as he has an astonishing 20-1 record, thus far. His only loss was to Fernando Verdasco at the Australian Open.

Nadal had a much easier time with Roddick than Murray did with Federer. It was very windy during his match, and yet, he was able to defeat Roddick in straight sets 6-4,7-6.  In his post-match interview, Nadal stated multiple times that he plans to play aggressively against Murray in their match tomorrow. Nadal has a 5-2 edge in their career head-to-head matches, but Murray has won their previous two matches, both of which were played on hard courts.
