The Big East has a chance to get four more teams into the Sweet Sixteen. Stay tuned to Sports Scoop for updates throughout the day about all of today’s action.

Game #1: 3 Syracuse def. 6 Arizona St. 78-67

–This was another dominating performance from a Big East team. The Orange had this game under their control from the time that it began.

Game #2: 4 Xavier def. 12 Wisconsin 60-49

–Xavier had their hands full with a talented Badgers team, but they were able to pull away from Wisconsin by the end of the game. The Musketeers will have a tough test against Pittsburgh in the Sweet Sixteen.

Game #3: 3 Kansas def. 11 Dayton 60-43

–Kansas dominated the Flyers throughout the game. The Jayhawks look like they are ready to contend for a championship.

Game #4: 12 Arizona def. 13 Cleveland St. 71-57

–The Vikings of Cleveland St. gave Arizona all that they could handle, but the Wildcats made their free-throws in the clutch to secure the victory. So much for a team that wasn’t suppsed to make the tournament, right?

Game #5:1 Pittsburgh def. 8 Oklahoma St. 84-76

–The image of DeJuan Blair grabbing an offensive rebound and slamming the ball through the hoop will be in the minds of the Oklahoma St. players for a long time. The Cowboys kept this one close and they had a chance to upset the number 1 seeded Panthers until that play occurred. Pitt’s games haven’t been pretty, but they have the playmakers that can get them a win in a close game.

Game #6: 2 Michigan St. def. 10 USC 74-69

–This was a hard-fought battle between two very talented teams. The 2nd ranked Spartans were able to hold on and they will next face Kansas in the Sweet 16.

Game #7: 3 Missouri def. 6 Marquette 83-79

–Missouri had a big lead in the first half, but the Golden Eagles were able to claw their way back in the second. Marquette would have had a chance to shoot for the win, had there not been a violation on the inbound, which gave Missouri the ball with just over 5 seconds remaining in the game.

Game #8: 1 Louisville def. 9 Siena 79-72

–Siena definitely showed their talent in this game, as they led the Cardinals with just over 5 minutes remaining in the game. After they gained that lead, however, Louisville took their game to another level and they, consequently, dominated the Saints from then on. Louisville had moments of greatness, but they will have to clean up their overall game if they want to beat Arizona, who have been very impressive in the first two rounds of this tournament.
