Jay Cutler has been traded to the Chicago Bears for Kyle Orton and two 1st round draft picks and a 3rd round pick.

The Bears reportedly beat out several teams including the Redskins, Titans, and Lions for Cutler.

The Broncos decided to trade Cutler after a feud between him and the first-year coach Josh McDaniels broke out when information of a proposed trade of Cutler for Matt Cassel leaked to the public. In the end, the Broncos were convinced that Cutler “no longer had any desire to play for” them.

The Chicago Bears have also acquired stand out left tackle Orlando Pace.

Crazy trade,. I think the Broncos got good value in return. Orton isn’t terrible, and if they want they can trade some of their picks in the draft for a rookie QB (sanchez, stafford?)

Jay Cutler won’t do well in Chicago because they have no WRs!

I agree that Chicago definitely needs some wide receivers, as well as, a tougher offensive line if Cutler wants to have stats comparable to those he put up in Denver.

Orton definitely isn’t terrible, but he isn’t great either. Maybe Denver will be able to do something with those draft picks that they got.

Ultimately, I agree with you. Denver came out on top in this one.

  1. No trackbacks yet.
