Roger Federer defeated Juan Martin del Potro 6-3, 6-4 in the second semifinal in Madrid. Both Federer and del Potro played poorly at the beginning of the match, but Federer was able to pull things together to break del Potro to get a 5-3 lead in the first set. Federer’s game only got better as the match progressed and Federer was, consequently, able to cruise to victory.

Federer will play number one ranked Rafael Nadal in the final, who he hasn’t defeated since the 2007 Tennis Masters Cup. Federer has only defeated Nadal on clay one time (Hamburg 2007).

This is only Federer’s second appearance in a final this season, the other being at the Australian Open, which he lost to Nadal. Therefore, Federer will be looking for revenge against his biggest rival, particularly since many of his critics have said that Nadal is in his head and that he may never beat him again. It should be a great match tomorrow!

Who do you think will win?
