Report: Washington Wizards Teammates Get Heated, Draw Guns During Argument

According to the New York Post, Wizards teammates Gilbert Arenas and Javaris Crittenton drew guns on each other during an argument on Christmas Eve, an argument which apparently stemmed from a gambling debt. Last week, the NBA began looking into a report which stated that Arenas kept unloaded firearms in his locker. According to Yahoo! Sports, it was during that investigation that the argument between Arenas and Crittenton came to light.

The New York Post report cited an anonymous source which stated that Crittenton was angry that Arenas wouldn’t pay off a gambling debt. In the heat of the argument, Arenas pulled a gun on Crittenton, who then also drew a gun on Arenas. Arenas denied the report.

On Friday, the Wizards released a statement in which they discussed the alleged altercation:

“The Washington Wizards take this situation and the ongoing investigation very seriously. We are continuing to cooperate fully with the proper authorities and the NBA and will have no further comment at this time.”
