According to reports, New England Patriots receiver Wes Welker tore his ACL and MCL in his left knee during Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans, which New England lost 34-27. This injury would force Welker to miss the playoffs.

Pats cornerback Shawn Springs told ESPN “It’s no secret around the whole NFL how important Wes is to us. My prayers are with him, because I know Wes is one of those guys who wants to be out there all the time. We are going to miss him.” Apparently Tom Brady was so upset that he even declined to talk to reporters, who only found an empty chair that had been placed near his locker when they entered the locker room.

Wes Welker had 123 catches for 1,348 yds and four touchdowns this season.
