Shanahan to Coach the Redskins

ESPN has reported that Mike Shanahan, who won back-to-back Super Bowls while coaching Denver, has signed on as head coach and executive vice president of football operations for the Washington Redskins. Shanahan’s deal is reportedly worth $7 million per year and he has sole authority on football decisions for the team. In addition, Shanahan’s son Kyle, who was the offensive coordinator for Houston, will now assume the same title for Washington.

Shanahan was pursued by the Redskins following former coach Jim Zorn’s release on Monday.
