Vladamir Guerrero has agreed to a $6 million one-year deal with the Texas Rangers. Vlad definitely isn’t who he once was, but what’s up with the Angels getting rid of several key players and not getting anyone back in return? I realize they had several players that were free agents following the 2009 season, but those players need to be replaced and I haven’t seen that happening. It seems like I hear about the Angels in the running for different people off-and-on, but it never pans out. You have to get somebody, sometime…

Angels Pitcher Adenhart Killed in a Car Accident

Angels Baseball by stryder10464.

Just hours after throwing six scoreless innings against the Oakland Athletics, Nick Adenhart was killed by a suspected drunk driver. Adenhart’s vehicle was broadsided by a minivan that apparently ran a ran light. The driver of the minivan fled the scene, but he was captured roughly thirty minutes later. His blood alcohol level was reportedly above the legal limit of .08 and he was driving using a suspended license, which was due to previous drunk driving convictions.

His family has released a statement which stated “He lived his dream and was blessed to be part of an organization comprised of such warm, caring, and compassionate people. The Angels were his extended family. Thanks to all of Nick’s loyal supporters and fans throughout his career. He will be in everyone’s hearts forever.”

Angels Torii Hunter said that “I’m in shock right now. He just pitched last night. It doesn’t seem like this is happening. This is real life. This isn’t about baseball. This is his whole life, he had his whole life ahead of him. He’s only 22, he’s still a kid. He was a great kid, he was funny, he was very popular in the clubhouse and off the field. People loved him.”

Sad.
